Day 02: Delhi
After breakfast, we will go on a sightseeing tour of Delhi. As the capital city of India, its former rulers always prized Delhi for its strategic location. A visit to Old Delhi is always an experience. Walk through the ancient bustling, twisting alleyways of Chandni Chowk, the bazaar area and the Red Fort as well as the Jama Masjid (India's biggest Mosque). For those who want to see more, there is the Raj Ghat where Gandhi was cremated and which today is a peaceful and popular park. The British built New Delhi, carefully planning the city and the main metropolitan area, when they moved their capital here from Calcutta in 1911. With many interesting museums and art galleries, and several monuments constructed by the mighty Mughal Emperors such as Humayun's Tomb and the Qutab Minar, there is plenty to explore in Delhi. Drive past the India Gate and the Rashtrapati Bhawan (The Presidential Palace). Visit also the prominent Sikh temple at Bangla Sahib. Delhi is a shopper's paradise. It is one big emporium for all of India's handicrafts, and home to some of the best contemporary designers that India can boast of. This energetic city now has good dining and nightlife options to complement its considerable historical and architectural interest. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle at disposal)

Day 05: Ramathra – Bundi (145 kms/3 ½ hrs)
After breakfast we will drive to Bundi, once the capital of a princely Rajput state. On arrival check in at the hotel. Bundi has for long remained isolated and undiscovered by mass tourism, and offers a warmth of hospitality rarely found elsewhere. This, together with the paucity of vehicles on its streets, makes this ancient town a pleasure to wander around in. The town's Rajput legacy is well preserved in the shape of the massive Taragarh Fort and the striking Bundi Garh Palace. The drive into the town is particularly pleasing as the road winds along the hillside overlooking the valley opposite to the fort. Views of the town and the surrounding countryside are excellent. The town lies on the side of a steep hill overlooking a lake and is itself overlooked by the palace. Bundi is also famous for its 'Baoris' or terraced wells with stone steps, which were once used to store rainwater for the long dry season. These are often beautifully decorated, the most impressive of them being the Raniji-ki-Baori. Surrounded by ornately carved pillars and scalloped arches, at 150ft deep it is one of the largest and finest of its kind. The Nagar Sagar is a set of twin step wells outside of the Choughan gate. These matching step wells on each side of the main Bundi town have been crafted in immaculate stonework. A little out of town on the Ajmer Road is the Phool Sagar Palace with its beautiful artificial tank and sprawling gardens. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle at disposal)
Day 06: Bundi – Shahpura (110 kms/3 hrs)

It has the atmosphere of a small town, with winding alleyways and tree-lined streets leading to the impressive City Palace, which overlooks the legendary "floating" Lake Palace. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle at disposal)
Day 16: Udaipur
We will spend the day on a sightseeing tour of Udaipur, starting with the City Palace. The entrance to the City Palace complex is through the 'Hathi Pol' (elephant gate) along the main street of the old city, past the Jagdish Temple. The paintings, mosaics, intricately carved 'Chhatries' and the architecturally brilliant façade all contribute to making a visit to the City Palace a truly memorable experience. We will also visit the lovely Sahelion-ki-Bari, the garden of the maids of honour that was constructed for forty-eight young ladies in waiting who were sent to the royal house as a part of a lavish dowry.
