Overview:
This package takes you on a quick tour of North India, covering the major attractions that the region is known for. Starting from Delhi, the bustling capital India, we take you to Jaipur, the Pink City with its numerous palaces; to Agra with its indescribably beautiful Taj Mahal; to Khajuraho, the small town in Madhya Pradesh famous for its Hindu and Jain temples with their beautiful sculptures and carvings, some of them explicitly erotic; and to Varanasi, the immortal city on the banks of the River Ganges.

Detailed Itinerary :
Day 01 - ARRIVE DELHI
On arrival at New Delhi you are given a traditional welcome at the airport by an ITC representative with a garland of marigolds. You are then transferred to your hotel to unwind and get over the jetlag. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle for Transfer)

Day 02 - DELHI
We spend the morning covering the various attractions of Old Delhi which include Raj Ghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi; and the Jama Masjid and the Red Fort built by the Mughal Emperor- Akbar the Great. In the afternoon we take a look at the Qutub Minar built in 1193, the Lotus Temple which is one of the most visited buildings in the world. We then stop for a photo-stop at the India Gate (War Memorial Arch) before moving on to the President's Palace & Parliament House. Later we visit Sikh Temple at Bangla Sahib. Overnight at the hotel. Day 03 - DELHI - JAIPUR (258 Kms/6.5 hrs approx)
After breakfast we leave for Jaipur and on arrival check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon we pay a visit to the Village of Magicians. Evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle at Disposal)

Day 04 - JAIPUR

After breakfast at the hotel, we will go on a day-long sightseeing tour of Jaipur and Amber. Jaipur was founded in 1727 AD by Maharaja Jai Singh who was not only a great statesman but also a keen astronomer and an architect. The highlights of the tour include an elephant ride* to the historical Amber Fort on a hill outside Jaipur, visiting the historical 'Sheesh Mahal', resplendent with mirrors, the Observatory of Jai Singh (Jantar Mantar) built in 1728, the City Palace and the Museum. The day's itinerary will end with a drive past the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) and through Jaipur's pink-coloured residential and business areas. Evening at leisure. Enjoy a sumptuous Rajasthani Dinner and stay overnight stay at the hotel. (Vehicle at Disposal) *Elephant ride is subject to availability.



Day 05 - JAIPUR - AGRA (232 Kms/6 hrs approx)
After breakfast, we'll leave for Agra, touching Fatehpur Sikri en-route. Fatehpur Sikri is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located some 35 km from Agra. It was built by Akbar as his capital, but was later abandoned. We'll stop for lunch (own expense) at Bharatpur before continuing to Jaipur and checking into your hotel. Evening at leisure. Day 06 - AGRA
After breakfast at the hotel we'll take a look at the Taj Mahal. A World Heritage Site and one of the 'Seven Wonders of the World', this beautiful monument built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, is synonymous with India to most visitors to the country. Although the Taj is one of the most photographed edifices in the world and is instantly recognized by people, seeing it for real is an awe-inspiring experience. Later in the day we will visit the massive Agra Fort, once the seat of the Mughal rulers and today a World Heritage Site. Built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar, the fort contains several palaces, pavilions, gardens, mosques and private chambers. Agra is renowned for its superb inlay work on marble and soapstone, created by descendants of the craftsmen who built the Taj Mahal. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle for Sightseeing)

Day 07 - AGRA -JHANSI (TRAIN 0817/1048 Hrs) & KHAJURAHO (17
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Railway Station for a train journey to Jhansi. On arrival there you will be met by a representative and driven to Khajuraho. En route you will visit Orchha, a beautiful medieval town built on the banks of the river Betwa, and once the capital of the Bundela Kings. The town still retains the captivating air of a bygone era. Amongst the various imposing edifices at Orchha, of particular interest are the Jehangiri Mahal built by Raja Bir Singh Deo to commemorate the visit of Mughal Emperor Jahangir; and the Raj Mahal and the Laxmi Narayan temple, both noted for their fine frescoes and mural paintings. After seeing Orchha we'll continue our drive to Khajuraho, and on arrival there check-in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle at Disposal)

Day 08 - KHAJURAHO - VARANASI (IC 405 – 1400/1440 Hrs)
After Breakfast we'll visit the Khajuraho Temples. One of the most popular tourist destinations in India, the Khajuraho temples are considered to be one of the "seven wonders" of India and together form a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Set in a parkland landscape with mown grass, beds of roses and numerous ornamental trees, the temples are classified into western, eastern and southern groups, with each group displaying a profusion of sculptures that are among the greatest masterpieces of Indian art. Some of the sculptures are explicitly erotic. Later we'll check out from hotel and drive to the airport to board a flight to Varanasi. On arrival there you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. In the evening we'll observe various rituals being performed on the river bank. Overnight at the hotel. Day 09 - VARANASI - DELHI (IC405 – 1540/1655 Hrs)
Before sunrise we'll drive down to the waterfront, board a boat and sail on the placid waters of the Ganges, observing the religious rituals taking place on the river banks (Ghats). The centuries old temples silhouetted against a crimson sky at dawn with a myriad hues reflected on the rippling waters presents one of the most impressive sights in the world. Back on land, we'll wind through the labyrinthine lanes back to hotel. After Breakfast we'll drive to the airport and board a flight to Delhi and on arrival there check-in to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle at Disposal) *(Internal flights subject to change)

Day 10 - DEPARTURE - DELHI
Breakfast at the hotel. At leisure till check-out time. You'll then be transferred to the Delhi International Airport to board the onward flight to your destination. (Vehicle for Transfer)
